Boeing agreed to pay $1.1 billion to avoid prosecution by the U.S. Department of Justice over two fatal 737 MAX crashes. The funds will be allocated to enhance safety compliance and compensate victims’ families. The settlement includes $455 million for safety improvements and $444.5 million for victim compensation.
